TRUF Community Governance Update

Your Voice. Your Vote. Your TRUF.

TRUFNETWORK-community governance

Day 39 of 100 Days of TRUF

Why We Are Updating Governance

TRUF holders have asked for a direct channel to suggest ideas and signal which initiatives matter most.

Starting next week, every veTRUF token holder can post proposals on our discourse, debate them in public, and record a binding signal vote. All votes are advisory; the Guardian Council decides on the execution of each proposal.

This model keeps execution secure while giving the community a measurable voice that can help spotlight strong ideas and strengthen token-holder engagement.

How It Works

All Council signatures and on-chain transactions are public. Two sentences of rationale are enough; long reports are not required.

Stage Tool Timeframe Details
Draft & Discussion Discourse forum (posts mirrored to Telegram and Discord) Minimum 72 hours Authors create a proposal thread using the template provided below. Community members debate and suggest edits.
Move to Vote Tally Instant Any user with at least 10 000 veTRUF can push a mature thread to a formal vote.
Voting Tally 3 days Tally calculates voting power based on veTRUF balances at proposal start time. A minimum of 5% of total veTRUF must participate to meet quorum. Proposals are approved with a simple majority.
Council Review Guardian Council multisig Up to 7 days Council signs transactions to enact approved items or posts a short rejection note citing illegality, security risk, or budget mismatch.
Archive Discourse Thread is tagged Executed or Rejected and locked.

Voting Mechanics in Detail

Tally balance is fixed when the vote starts. Later transfers do not change voting power.

Results are visible in real time and final when the end block is reached.

Guardian Council at a Glance

  • Members: 3 product leads, 1 legal-ops lead, 1 external adviser.
  • Term: open-ended until the Council replaces a member internally.
  • Authority: sole power to execute or reject proposals.
  • Response deadline: 7 days after a vote closes.

What Makes a “Good” Proposal

Threads that lack a clear summary, proposed action, or rationale may be deleted without notice. Authors should focus on impact, cost, and measurable success criteria.

See the template below for required sections.

Communications Flow

  • A launch post (this one) explains the process and links to resources.
  • Each new proposal automatically cross-posts to Telegram and Discord for visibility.
  • Council decisions are written directly in the same Discourse thread; no quarterly wrap-ups or extra reports.
